Go away for a few days...
I have been pondering GF's recent post and the related discussion. I decided to base this Sunday's verse to that topic.
ACCEPTABLE ADDICTIONS
I love you!
All of you who need
this music like I do
When we dance
fortuitous circumstance
creates moods enhanced
Getting so high,
entranced
by the moment
I love you
The things you say
I sense some way
we've connected
you hear my words
understand my tears
so I remain here,
despite my fears,
at the moment
I love you!
You make me laugh
my brain adores
your beauty
and I'll feel free
if you love me
Romantic reciprocity
breeds the serenity
of the moment
And I love you
on a midnight ride
with you inside
I'm rapt
Wrapped
in your arms
a transcendental space
the biochemical embrace
to erase all pain
I'm intoxicated,
aggreably insane
for the moment

i don't mean to be mean
but you need Listerine®,
not a sip,
not a swallow,
but the whole damn bottle!

i reread the poem and i really like it.
sounds very personal though which can be so dangerous on a public forum.
i was writing a lot of song lyrics last year when i was playing bass, singing, and playing both acoustic and electric guitar in a rock and roll band.
when we broke up i and just kinda stopped writing.
i was too caught up with writing music for this electronic outfit i joined right after the previous band.
i didn't sing in that one so i didn't feel the need to write lyrics, ya know?
last week i decide to write some poetry outside of song lyrics for the 1st time since i was in my mid teens.
here's one i wrote while bored at work.
it's more on the Freaky Friday tip but here it is.
(poem removed, and replaced in your pm's)
i know it's kinda on the cheezy tip.
i have never written anything even vaguely erotic in my entire life and wanted to see if i could do it. http://deephousepage.com/smilies/gap.gif

I am so glad you enjoyed my post by krishnamurti, I do hope others read it...if not, oh well...
Concerning your poem which I do like, I just wanted to point out, addiction is never love...either for yourself or someone else.
Also, akila, I read your poem on the weekend (before your edit)...very sexy ;)

It was interesting to me how each person who posted seemed to focus on a different aspect of the writing. I think we see what we need to see at the time.
Oh, and do you read Mojo? ;) I have never seen AKiLa before, but I bet he smells really good and his spirit is beautiful...

beautiful spirit? hmmmmm!!!!!!
some have told me i was beautiful, though for some reason i just can't see the reasons why for them saying so.
but then again they also scolded me for not seeing it their way.
but as they say, we are all our own worst critics.

Actually, I am pleased that you started up again. I don't consider myself a poet by any stretch. I just like to put words together and had hoped that others would do the same. (Thanks, JMNYC)
Actually, I think FNM has a gift (contribution to the present thread notwithstanding) and his work inspired me to start writing again.

Thanks for the thought chain, aKiLa (you guys and these caps!). I might have put in for a subscription to Mojo if you weren't younger than the 10 year age-difference threshold I've set for myself. Even I have to draw the line somewhere! Plus, I don't know if I could match you on the other stuff either.

thanks for the nice comment.
now, i'm blushing.
i reread that thread last night and the truth is between the time that i posted that thread and now, i have actually began to reevaluate
my thoughts on the subject.
i still do believe that by now a person that i might want to get romantically involved with should already know who they are.
But, i have also realized that a lot of the nit picky stuff that i mentioned in that thread were just because of my own insecurities.
i think it was Lola Desire that mentioned something about wanting all of those things in order to avoid conflict.
that is so true.
what is the point if you can't work through your problems as a couple and getting past the issues, living to see the many more happy days that come along with those sour times.
unless of course ya'll just can't get along.
i've been in those relationships. (VERY DANGEROUS).
;)
