Go on to work and probably expect to have a fire drill, attend a fire safety class, or be briefed on your company's escape plan in the wake of the Loop fire Friday. I work for a gov't agency and when 9/11 happened, they locked us in and we were receiving bomb threats over the phone. But I also remember a hot Friday evening, me and a coworker got locked in a stairwell and the other 6 floors were locked. We were stuck like 45min. No one knew and the doors had some magnetic locking device. Eventually, my coworker kicked it loose. Nobody should perish at work. My sympathies go out to those families.
