I was just going thru some dusty classics and came across "Good to be the King" (Mel Brooks)..I love the bassline on this track and that early 80s sound.Like "Hanging on a String" ect. The lyrics by Mel Brooks are cheezy but the track is the joint!I forgot it has a nice instrumental on the B side and the women scat sound so sexy and sensual..For those that love classics, pull this one out again and hear that wonderful bassline.gives me the goosebumps. smile.gif

The dub is excellent. There's also Sylvia's female response rap on Sugarhill, very good too.

Sammy, you hit the nail on the head with that 1982 classic on WMOT (We Men Of Talent) Records (i think that was the label????) and you're right about being sensual the way the bassline sneaks on on that song :D the response Sylvia did on Sugarhill is a bit quicker than the Mel Brooks original and is very good as Andrew recommended...

Andrew, still can't get enough of those cds... :D hail.gif i was playing the mid tempo mix tonight and you had this song with a male vocal group that has the hook "got to get my way back to you" that had some subtle string action....that is some seriously SIIIIICK bassline in there...what is that song? thanks again!

Andrew, you wouldn't believe how many times i pressed the back button on my cd player while driving today just to listen to that song again! the bass guitar compliments that monster synth bass line beautifully plus with that string action makes for an irresistible song:) was that from the 1981 album that included the Kashif-produced "Loveline" (another Tavares/Kashif masterpiece)???
