On my home from work this morning I had a flash back of a really close aunt of mine who passed away on Good Friday 1984.She taught nursing at the university level and will always be remembered for her charm, kindness, sense of humour and trade mark greeting "How goes it?".Her son was an ex dj drom the late 70s /early 80s who binged on records in N.Y.C back in the day. When I started buying 12 inches in '82 I would go to my aunt's house to practice djing. One winter evening i was trying to perfect a mix with the instrumental of A.Bambatta's "Looking for the perfect beat" and C-Banks "One more shot".I didn't realize I was repeating these tracks to the point my Aunt was walking around the house actually mimicking the scratch sounds of DJ Whiz kid on "Looking for the ..." graemlins/rofl.gif (she did it so accurately)A very funny and sweet moment.Til this day my mother has fully recovered from her death they were so close.
