The only 12" i ever saw from thisLP (and I have looked) was the 4 track EP from the late 80's.
Maybe TOT or someone has more info on this, however I think Don Blackman made a huge silence in the USA, so this LP is largely unknown over there.

I totally agree martin, but this LP was not popular anywhere first time around.
A few painfully cool people told me they bought the LP the day it came out, but as far as I know, it didn't do very well for various reasons, one of the main ones being it came as GRP was having disputes with RCA, so there would probably have been little or no promotion.

Don Blackmon's album was on Arista (1982). I know one or two dj's who have the actual original LP. I have the re-issue. It's the best vocal jazz-funk album I've ever heard. The only 12" I know about from that album is the "Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide" 12".

I haven't seen the 12" but I know a collector who has one for sale. He also has the original Don Blackmon album. The album probably won't go for less than $200. I'm in the process of buying the 12".

I think the 12" is the same length as the album.

Al I`m not sure what label it was on as I was absolutley hammered. I know it wasn't a booty def on original label, Arista springs to mind .....I`ll ask him......

cRaiG... That's about right - there was a four track thing on Arista came out about '85 in the UK with Hearts Desire as one of the tracks. This was a few years after the album.

Hello. I wanted to honestly let you know that "Hearts Desire" was NEVER issued on a 12" on GRP. It's ONLY on the LP. I have had this record for a LONG time, and I used to play it heavily on my Chicago Radio show (WHPK - Thursday night's dusty's party) few years back. Now as far as a "bootleg", I couldn't tell you, but as an official release, it's only on the album....

There may not be a 12 on GRP, but there is a Don Blackman four track 12" ep containing 'Hearts Desire' on Arista that's for sure!
