Funny that this Q&A should come up just after I first heard your work. I heard a track on youtube that was attributed to you called "All I Need". Was that you?

Great feeling track - totally uplifting! I love the gospel vocal arrangement.

I am a musician and producer. I come from playing in bands as opposed to DJing. I discovered deep house a couple years ago (a little late to the game, I know). Coming from my perspective and hearing "All I Need", I was curious about how much of your music is live recorded instruments and how much is samples/programmed.

PS: Thanks for taking your time to do this!!

PPS: If "All I Need" is you, would you happen to know if it is available anywhere?

All I Need was a demo i cut many years ago with K.T.Brooks

I wanted to try something different and a bit more musical than what was happening at the time. I can't recall correctly who i used for the jazz guitar but i know it was someone off the Blue Note roster since that was my main hook up back then. All the rest of the recording was programmed by me. Normally it was one or two guys/girls who did a live thing. Maybe a horn player, guitar and/or rarely a live bass. Not too many live instruments. We just aimed to program as realistically as possible. Sometimes that called for letting errors get in while quantizing and loosening it up. Other times there were different quantizing percentages on different tracks giving it that illusion. It's all an experiment most of the times. lol.
