Did anyone catch the newspaper this morning? They have a pic of the dude who obstructed the ball on the front page. If I were dude, I'd seek some kind of witness protection program. Lots of Cubs fans are after his arse!!

If the CUBS lose, that guys gonna have to leave the city. He won't be able to go anywhere, hold a job or be safe for a long while.
Jeb Bush (FL Gov) offered him a spot in the Witness Protection Program after Gov Blagoyovich refused to pardon him.
The curse of the white guy 2k3...
DAMMIT GO CUBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Face it: that one obstruction would not have cost the Cubs a 7 game series.
You guys are stretching.

I know it's news, especially in Chicago, but I think it's borderline irresponsible for the paper to put a picture of this guy on the front page. He's going to end up hurt....or worse.
And Wild i is right, he did not make the Cubs lose. His was just the first of a series of events the led to their loss.

The dude is probably getting ribbed big time at work today. He will not live this down for quite a while.
I will say, though, that we was not the only moron reaching out to get the ball. He was, however, "successful" in catching it. Even Moises Alou was yelling/cursing at him.
All I can say is, I wish not to be in his shoes. Tsk ... tsk ....

magic_juan catching foul balls is part of the game for fans......Alou should've jumped for it if anything....Prior couldn't hold the lead.

Chicago police officers walk an unidentified man who attacked first base umpire Laz Diaz to a waiting police car. Diaz, a former Marine Corps reservist, was uninjured in the attack.

magic_juan If you're gonna dig up pictures, why don't you find they guy that started the near riot with Chad Kreuter and the Dodgers at "Friendly" Wrigley Field.
I think that he actually worked for the Tribune, btw.
OR
What about the loser that ran up on Randy Meyers (a ****in' third degree black belt, no less) a few years ago.
Please. Cub fans have NO monopoly on vice and virtuous behavior.

Wait a minute Cubs fans. How can this guy be the goat if they lose the series. Weren't the Cubs
3 games to 1 at one point during this series?
Even ESPN's website has this guys picture on the frontpage. Note the caption.

Brick Wall Bum:A fan disrupts Moises Alou in the eighth.
It's f*cked up that the "civilized" Cubs fans are calling for his head as if he's the sole reason for the loss. graemlins/jpshakehead.gif
And Fred, the cat that got decked by Randy Meyers was a trader in the Bond Pit at the Board of Trade.

The Fan was the cause and the Cubs losing was the effect. Once that happened you knew shit was going to be f'ed up. It always go that way. Never give a batter another chance they didn't deserve.
That moron killed the momentum for the Cubs and Prior lost focus after that dipshit stuck his grubby paws out for the ball. Can we get a public execution here? http://deephousepage.com/smilies/smokin.gif

OCTOBER 15--Meet Steve Bartman. He's the poor 26-year-old Chicago Cubs fan who last night got his hands on that foul ball headed for outfielder Moises Alou's mitt. Bartman, who attended the University of Notre Dame, works for a Chicago-area consulting firm and serves as coach for a local youth baseball program. We wanted to speak with Bartman about last night's incident, but he did not return messages left on his office voicemail. And when we dialed Bartman up at his apartment--about three miles from Wrigley Field--we got a recorded message saying that his number had been disconnected. Which is probably not a bad idea.
