Again, a nice atmosphere, good drum patterns, really this track is special!

But, and maybe it's not what you're trying to do, I will not dance to it. Your productions often sound linear, and that's strange because I really like how you put all your ideas together.

Maybe you should work more on your mixing part and try to build some drama?

To me it seems you're building but never dropping the bass or the beat alone for a break. So it builds, it builds, there's a long break but somehow it stays very linear.
I believe it lack variation of melodies. You know it's always a good surprise when you're hearing a great piano loop and suddendly some high keys add, repeat 3/4 times and disappear.

If you know Guy Gerber's Timing:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XVKL3sk_UBI&amp;hl=fr_FR&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XVKL3sk_UBI&amp;hl=fr_FR&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Listen to it from the beginning, and see how at 2:00, when you feel the track could get you to boredom, he changes the bassline and creates drama.
You'll even see, after that, that he drops his charleys or some loops to obtain good variations which keep you on till the kind of haunting high organ appears.
I really like how this track is put together, very hypnotic but with breaks and variations you could barely not notice.

Very very good work to my ears!

thanx a lot for the listen and taking the time to write me such thought full feedback..really appreciate it..

i had a listen to the track (Guy Gerber).. i personally didn't like the track all that much to be honest.. not enough in there to keep me intreseted .. but i c what u mean about the bass change and the lack of enough of that in my tracks.. i can't read music..and i wouldn't know a c chord if it hit me.. and thats my biggest crutch right now..i know i should be taking some kinda class or something.. or learn on the internet , but it doesnt quite work that way for me..not for a lil while longer atleast.. so i waste a lot of time and energy manually programming everything.. i need to change that.

will keep working on my mixing and building more drama as u have suggested.. thanx a lot for trying to help me better this :)

I think you have a good hear for what sounds good and what doesn't. Of course taking musical classes should improve what you're doing right now, but IMO yu should better for now on listen to well produced tunes and see where and how the changes are made.

See Dennis' posts, he told us a lot about that. Also try to check out some dance radio hits from the 80's to now and see how something will happen at 0:30 and then at 1:00, there are some kind of recipes for getting the listenners and dancers to follow your track.

It's like a videogame, if you had to shoot the same kind of space aliens on level 2, why would you continue to play?

I hope you'll get it soon cause your works are truly fresh.

And about the Guy Gerber track, you doon't have to like it, just see how it is well mixed to keep you dancing.
The guy only takes off parts and adds new one, and only combinates like 10 stems. And that's good enough.

You see, for example, I never liked Bjork as a singer. But I have to say that she can produce great songs, with an intro, drama, breaks, outro. Your audience will be wide or not, but you have to tell a story and that's the only thing that seems to lack in your productions.

hmmm...ok.. the thing is.. its a lil confusing for me now.. i feel like i am telling a story.. i dont like to think of it as a story.. more like a track , esp a house track is only a piece of a puzzle..like a jig saw..and when a dj plays ur track..it should fit into that puzzle to reveal the full picture.. the thing is ...to make sure that that peice of the puzzle that u create.. be able to fit in any puzzle..and help the dj show you the full picture..in a set... i will continue working harder on my mixes and building more drama.. thanx a lot for the feedback..really..it means a lot.

I like! Maybe some breaks are too long, but they sound great. Are you using Machinedrum?

hi..thank you for the listen.. i will try and make the break more interesting when i work on this again.. i don't use machinedrum.. will check it out.. beats are programmed in reason and fx/reverse etc on them done within cubase.
