I plan on making some Salsa, Merengue and Cumbia remixes/edits. Can you recommend any software that is easy to use. Most of my previous edits were done in real time. Not digitally. Thanks

Ableton Live is pretty easy to use when it comes to the cut & paste technique.

It's not free though.

Bias Peak I learned in minutes and it's not as fully featured as Ableton, but cheaper. Great if you just want to do editing and cutting.

take a look at reaper, for 60$ you get a full blown daw that gets updated almost every other week ! it got a strong community and the dev realy cares about suggestions from the userbase.
