View Full Version : April Fool's Day for sure

So I am getting ready to walk back to work from lunch at home. As I get ready to walk across the street I am bumped into by this old drunk man who turns to me and say's "****ing immigrant, go back"
I had to pause for a second to fully grasp what he said. Dear Jesus, I nearly turned back around to **** his shit up. My ears were burning so bad, I seriously thought I was going to fall down. I was just pissed at how ignorant this world truly was with so many twisted perspectives.
Yet, at that moment I all of a sudden I felt so sorry for this man, this drunk man who has nothing to look forward to except hate & his death. Compassion.

As I walked back to work I became so aware of my own conditioning by the way I reacted to such nonsense. I was no different then him.

This was my official April Fool's day. How silly of me to think that I lived in a conscious world.

What a day that will be when we are not a color, race, religion or gender. John Lennon had it correct...look what happened to him...enemies....hmmm....now I get it! ;)

Thanks for reading...just had to get that out of me.

peace

I get it ... but what's wrong with a world of color, race, religion, gender if it's all respected? I celebrate the differences in color, race, religion, gender.Yeah we are all human but of different races etc; maybe I'm missing something. Maybe I didn't get it.
Peace

The problem is that our differences in race, color, creed, nationality, or religion is not respected. They're more often portrayed as reasons to separate us instead of bringing us together.

gyal - sorry you had this happen to you. a few years back i had some white kid call me buckwheat. i was soooo vexed... getting it out helps resolve the anger. keep in mind, what the man said is not even about you. it's about him, and his issues.

as far as this event, don't take it personally. sometimes, indeed, we get a wake up call. it let's us know that there is more work to do.

keep teaching.
