I'm not into any of the Conspiracy(sp) theories as such BUT...

A couple of things we as people suffer from :

Minor : Common Cold
Major : Cancer

Do you think with all the information at the hands of the various people involved in the medical industry they could not have found a cure for the above.

Or do you think it is about the $$$$ and the ££££'s which are made each year form the sale of pharmacuticals(sp)...?

Could and are the people involved be that malicous and greedy that they would hold back the answer just for money's sake.

Just a thought

Sorry to gat all serious on ya smile.gif I'm not sure of the specific answers to your questions with regards to Cancer Rob, but I know pharmacutical companys have been exposed in the past for doing just that.

The commen cold is a hard one to cure because there are thousands upon thousands of different cold viruses making it almost impossible to be specific with treatment. Which is why cold treatments tend to be for the symptoms rather than the virus itself.

Western pharmacutical companies have also wiped out tribes of rain forest dwellers by introducing Western viruses to their enviroment whilst on the quest for their own ancient cures to be used in modern medicine.

Terrible to think they could have gone on surviving in such a natural way without harming anyone then we go in to steal their knowledge, and then (albeit inadvertently) destroy them.

Natural selection will always be one step ahead of man no matter what.

In the way of natural selection do you think mankinds days are now numbered?

I have to say that I do not believe this to be the case at all (medical companies withholding a cure for cancer for the purpose of making $). The fact that cancer affects such large numbers of people leads me to suspect that, were there a cure for it, it could still be lucrative. The fact that it does not affect any one group of people disproportionately makes me doubt this further. At least one medical company board member or researcher would likely have family members affected by the disease and would be extremely disturbed by watching them die and withholding medicine. In reality the number of people who fit into that category would be quite high, and even if their family members were treated privately, the word would get out. It would be surprising if there was a cure and not a single place in the world offered it. Also, if it was possible for us to understand how cancerous cells operate within the human body with the information and technology we have right now, it is likely that more than one person would find a treatment method that works, and would find a private person to fund research beyond where pharmaceutical companies would allow. Even if no wealthy people were interested in finding a cure for cancer, I can't believe that most researchers would agree to withhold a cure, for any amount of money. These are people who dedicate their life to medicine in the same way many of us devote our life to music or art. Medical companies may be evil, but I cant believe that large numbers of researchers could hide a cure and be able to live with themselves, no matter the amount of cold hard green. I believe in people too much for that. This is important to me because I have recently watched someone important to me die of cancer, and I know what that is like. The idea of secret conspiracies is useful because it reminds us that there is a lot going on that we dont see. But it is equally important to weigh the factors before we start getting carried away and turn suspicion into anger. Hope this hasn't bored or offended any of you.
