I was too young to check this out when it came to theater but I own the DVD and grew up watching and memorizing just about every line of this film. Really looking forward to it. Little FYI for the fans out there because I had no idea about them releasing this in theaters.

'Scarface' returns for 20th anniversary
LOS ANGELES - The 1983 crime drama "Scarface," directed by Brian De Palma and starring Al Pacino, will return to the big screen in 10 cities later this month to mark the violent film's 20th anniversary and help promote the release of a two-disk DVD set.

The film features Pacino as the ambitious, foul-mouthed Cuban immigrant Tony Montana, who builds a drug empire in Miami.

The film has been restored and features a new digital soundtrack.

"Scarface" will open for a limited engagement in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Dallas, Miami and San Francisco on Sept. 19.

The DVD, which will be released Sept. 30, will include new bonus features, including a 20-minute documentary about the film's influence on hip-hop culture and music, featuring P. Diddy, Snoop Dog and the rapper Scarface.

One of my all time favourite films. I think when I play Vice City I'm petending to be Tony Montana!

Highly entertaining but also imo opinion wildly overrated - I don't particularly rate Brian de Palma as a director but he has made some entertaining films.

"Say goodnight to the bad guy"

(and I thought the line from Gone With the Wind was an awful delivery - emphasis being on 'give' rather than 'damn'.)

"Body Double" rules. And "Rasiing Cain" - wildly under-rated IMO.

I'm with Martin - good entertainment but not a masterpiece. I like Carlito's Way a lot more.

Favourite Al Pacino movie? Obvious but Godfather Part II...
