ooooooooohhh , you beat me to it!!! smile.gif

Shoot, tonight, they were ALL looking good! But some were looking better than others, I thought. Now, I'm talking strictly about how they actually looked in front of the cameras.

Dean- has got to get that 2 x 4 out of his a$$ . Stiff as I don't know what. You see his neck? Was he a football player?

Lieberman - Smile, goddamnit! Just once! Just for me! For the camera! You wanna be president for crying out loud! Smile, even if you have to fake it! Invent some passion in there!

Kusinich - how do you spell his name? Anyway, this man needs just a ton more charisma.

Graham - I don't know how to articulate it, but he just looks wierd! Dufusey! He needs a huge charisma implant, as well.

I gotta say, the best looking, most poised, most in charge for tonight was DEFINITELY AL who did a GREAT job of handling the unexpected (the Laroach supporters, the question on music) and Moseley-Braun. She just looked so professional, so classy, so balanced.

Kerry looked presidential, Edwards is getting there. He had that little-boy southern charm thing going, a la Clinton, and Gephart is trying hard, like I've never seen him try. His tie matched his eyes exactly, You notice that?

Damn, I was all caught up in the style. The substance of the debate . Damn, I don't know. They all sounded great! All except Lieberman. He was the least-great. He was not-so-great. As a matter of fact, he seemed asleep at the wheel, like he's done it all before. Definitely the least impressive. When they asked him something about his campaign or his presidency and race, or African-Americans specifically,
he actually seemed to wake up for a minute there. There was a fire for just a minute. Then we went back to sleep. He's gotta go.

Really, I have got to disect the substance more, b/c they all sounded great. Definitely united against Bush. That's what I want to hear!

I think the most revealing question was, surprise! The question , "what is your favorite song?"

the favorite song question was extremely revealing, dean picked a wyclef jean song. when asked if his states low african-american population meant he could not connect with blacks, he responded: 'if the percentage of black population in your state was an indicator of your ability to connect with black voters, then trent lott would be martin luter king'

What were the other candidates' songs?

Mark, what channel was this on locally? I was flipping through last night and couldn't find it. Dean has my vote at this point.

it was on Fox channel and NPR.

I just want Dean to look better! Someone HELP him with that! The guy was so stiff! But I like him. I do.

Leiberman - Don't Stop Thinking about tomorrow - "Remember that one?" He asks. (My response - Shuddup! Go home! PLEASE come up with something original! He also said

My Way / Sinatra, and he changed it to "our way"

Dean is like, "a song you all don't know" And he is correct, I'm sure it went over most of their heads.

incidently, is why is Juan Williams looking so unbelievably old and tired? I was starting to think that he is sick.

My dad spent the Clinton years ranting and raving about Hillary-care and whatnot, now admits sheepishly any complaints he had back then were peanuts in comparison and can't wait to vote against Bush, but I still can't picture him pulling the lever for Hillary in a million years. For seemingly irrational reasons, this woman is hated by a lot of otherwise rational people whose votes the Democrats need.

H. is smarter than that. She's biding her time, making inroads. Building coalitions. This woman is a power-house. Believe it. We'll be seeing her later. No need to worry about that!

In truth, when the first murmers of her running in 04 came to light, I was actually hoping she would NOT run, for just those reasons. She knows she has some growing to do as a political figure, and I commend her for that.

I saw something the other day professing, "Hillary Clinton in 2008!" so this is a highly anticipated move.

Do any of these 9 jokers have any real solutions to anything or just to say..Bush is evil?

By far the best candidate is Al Sharpton. Too bad he is totally dismissed as irrelevant by the media. He's got the charisma, the poise, and the intelligence to be a great leader. If only he were white...

The second best is Kucinich--a great guy who stands up to corporate interests--too bad he is small and has a funny last name.

Third--Moseley-Brown--too bad she is black, and too bad she is a woman.

Out of those who have a chance, Dean is probably the best.

Kerry is not articulate enough, Edwards and Graham are too conservative and too southern, Gephardt has something about him that screams "Loser", and Lieberman might as well be a Republican--hate that bitch!

I'm curious to know if America is ready for a woman President? I live in the UK so its hard for me to tell. I just remember our female Prime Minister was an absolute *****

i think most dems, baby boom and younger are more or less ready, or could be when it becomes closer to immediate reality.

the repubs...well....that's another story.
but i doubt if the repubs will ever be ready. they will be pushed into it eventually. i'd say kicking and screaming, but that's not what repubs do. they turn icy silent and wait wait wait....watching....biding time....

of course, you are asking about the people. and i'd say what i said above, more or less. but i think that issue of a woman prez might divide people along religious, and especially generational lines.

the one good thing about the baby booms is that they like to think of themselves as ready for this. i don't think they truly are, personally, but in this case, i'd like to give it to them anyway. and once you've got the baby booms on the pro side, you've got the numbers to make it a reality.
