question for uk peeps - postal strike

any of you know the exact date this started? i read it finished today, but i've been waiting on a couple of packages and want to know if they were affected or if the delay is on my end. thanks smile.gif

I think they are expecting the knock on effect to last a couple of weeks though.

"Royal Mail customers have been warned that it could take weeks to clear the backlog of undelivered post caused by strikes by London postal workers."

I was aware of the strikes, but only thought it affected a small number of people, but dammit, I've been waiting ages for some dope vinyl, and it's starting to bug me now...

I sent a letter to london on monday and it arrived tuesday...

doesn't seem to be working so well in the opposite direction though.

I'm afraid it's impossible to say when it started, because it was unofficial and it spread from depot to depot. Where I live was first affected, so I didn't get any post for ten days. What's happened since then is that all the post that had been sorted and ready for delivery prior to the strike has been delivered and all of the post that has been posted subsequent to the strike (i.e. in the last two days) has also been delivered. I'm now waiting for all of the post in the middle of those two points and there's no sign of it arriving.
