Hi Marco, and welcome to the board!

Soul-food is anything that feeds your soul: music, friends, lovers, family, Blackadder, the sun, etc, etc.

Or maybe it's Lil Ray's cooking? :D

Welcome Marco, "soul food" is the term we Americans use to describe the cuisine developed by African slaves in the American South. They often had to make something out of nothing and were given what was considered to be the least desirable parts of animals, such as chitterlings which are hog's intestines. (Still considered undesirable by me.)

Through adversity was developed a cuisine that is beloved in many circles today. Some popular soul food items include the different greens (Collard, Mustard, Turnip), fried chicken and catfish, cornbread, hush puppies (fried cornbread) and different parts of the pig. There are too many to list. A search of the term "soul food" will yield many results. I hope this helps. Now I'm hungry.
