Debate is fun. Which is why I said last night that Buddy Love couldn't be seriously expecting comments about the actual subject, using such inflammatory language about women in general. Either you want to talk about the topic at hand (the women who are panting after Scott Peterson), or you want to start some isht by calling women names...I don't think you can do both and expect healthy, intelligent debate.

it is not that women are stupid, it is a human occurance that happens when we see someone in the spotlight who is troubled and could have created a act of murder, etc. I remember the Nightstalker case where he appeared in my yard one night and that same night he killed a woman across the street. he gouged her eyes and ate them. finally he was captured about 2 miles from me. there were countless women who wanted to be his savior, who wanted to prove that if they gave the Nightstalker love, he would change. women do that, they want to save and shelter and take care of a misunderstood individual. women are caring to a fault, but if a man is intrigued by a murderous woman, it is because he sees her as a sexual curiosity and wishes he could dominate her physically and ultimately mentally. You can say women are stupid all you want, but try to understand the underlying causes first.

The 220-pound Brooklyn woman charged with sitting on her ex-lover's chest and clubbing him to death with her size-12 high heels walked away yesterday a free woman.

After 30 minutes of testimony from Anna Rhinehart, 40, a grand jury declined to indict her on manslaughter charges in the slaying of 52-year-old Roosevelt Bonds.

Her lawyer said she was happy about the outcome, yet still saddened by the death of Bonds, with whom she had a 6-year-old son.

Attorney Darren Fields said the panel was convinced by his client's version of the stiletto slaying - that she had to defend herself after Bonds punched her in the face, knocking out some teeth.

But Bonds' large family - he's the father of up to 20 children by six or seven women - blasted the grand jury's decision.

"I don't understand how they can let something like this happen," said his daughter Letracia Barnes, 23. "Can you just beat up someone and murder them and then say it's self-defense?"

Bonds died in a bloody brawl with Rhinehart outside a Brownsville, Brooklyn, restaurant in the early hours of June 7.

She said a furious Bonds, whom she had dated for years, tracked her down after he learning she was engaged to another man.

Both stood about 5-feet-9, but Rhinehart outweighed her former beau by about 40 pounds and somehow managed to get on top of him, then pound him repeatedly with her big shoes, cops said.

Bonds died of blunt trauma and chest compression, but Rhinehart said she left the scene without realizing how badly she had hurt him. She said she fought back in self-defense when bystanders ignored her screams for help.

Fields said the grand jury heard witnesses last week and that two others testified yesterday with Rhinehart. The lawyer declined to identify any of the witnesses.

Violent past

Rhinehart and Bonds had a stormy relationship peppered with violent brawls.

Fields said that in their last spat, Bonds "was on top of her most of the time," until she got a leg up on him - and her shoes down on him.

To prove his case, he said he submitted photos of Rhinehart's injuries, including marks on her neck where Bonds allegedly tried to strangle her, bite marks on her stomach and her missing front teeth.

Bonds' death, Fields said, "was something [Rhinehart] never wanted in a million years. The only thing she wanted was for him to stop beating her."

Last night, her burly fiance answered the door at her apartment and scowled, "She has no comment. She's acquitted and that's that."

Okay, I think that what we have here is a discussion that falls under the concept of "It's all in the presentation."

I understand Buddy's intent with this discussion, but it's like the gourmet steak dinner served on a trashcan lid as opposed to being served on fine china.

To bring the point down to a microcosmic level, In my personal past, I always remembered that a large number of the girls in highschool or on campus would chase after the guys who everybody knew had a history of cheating, abuse and other relationship issues or the ones who were straight-up thugs.

Good Guy: "But why are you trying to even deal with him? He used to kick his last girlfriend's ass weekly!"

Naive Girl: "Oh, it'll be different with me! I know that I can change him!"

Not to be a generalist, but I have seen this so many times, that it's frightening. So, if you add the status of celebrity to the mix, then what do you have?

I remember one time that one of my older sister's best friends used to date Orlando Woolridge when he played for the Bulls. He kicked her ass several times and it went to court. Though there was national press about him being abusive, women still threw themselves at him.

Just another example of people sacrificing themselves at the altar of the cult of personality....
