What would you wish for?

I happened to catch an episode of I Dream of Jeanie (no laughing or smart comments please) last weekend I think and started wondering what I really WOULD wish for if had the chance and didn't have to be all "I-wish-for-world-peace-an-end-to-hunger-and-happiness-for-everyone!"

I'm still thinkin about my wish.

Here's two choices. I'm not sure which I like more.

* To know the answer to any question posed to me. I guess that's infinite knowledge?

* To have magical powers that allowed me to do whatever I wanted. (aaahh..the joy of snapping my fingers and having a plate of freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies appear before me)

A drunk is staggering down the beach, broke and desperate for more liquor. He sees a bottle and runs over to it, hoping to find sumpthin to swig up in there, but when he shakes it, alas, it is empty. He opens it just to be sure, and kind of cleans it off with his hands (it's obviously washed up from somewhere) and BAM! out pops a genie.

"You have freed me from the bottle, so I shall grant you three wishes," says the genie.

The drunk has hit paydirt! "Hmmmmm, for my first wish, I'd like a bottle of wine that's never empty."

The genie says, "so it shall be!" And like magic, the bottle in the man's hands is filled with the most delicious wine he's ever tasted. He drinks the entire bottle, but as soon as he swallows the last gulp, the bottle is full again!

He turns to the genie and says "this is good shit!" as he continues to gulp down the nectar.

The genie responds "you have two more wishes ... you can have anything you possibly want. But you better hurry up 'cause I've been in that bottle for centuries, and I'm horny and wanna go find me some booty."

So the drunk, busy gulping down more wine from the bottle, says "oh...yeah...right. Two more wishes, huh? Well, this shit is so good, just give me two more bottles just like this one!"

For the folks wishing for the ability to have "whatever they want," do you realize that life has no value without work? If you could just snap your fingers and instantly have fame, fortune, solitude, obscurity, cars, houses, mates -- why would you bother to live. You'd be so bored, you'd soon wish for an end to it.

Yeah I know a lot of you will say, "Oh no, not me!" But think of all the people who won the lottery who now wish they could give the money back. Statistics show that within a year of hitting the lotto for a million or more, most people go back to work. They may not go back to the same job. They may start the business they always wanted, but most of them go back to work.

Be careful what you wish for...

A set of technics 1210's - I now spend my money on making sure my family has a nice life and want for nothing, I never got round to buying the illusive 1210's and now theres always something more that requires my hard earned cash. the wish to snap my fingers and everything I want would appear...and some of those things would be...

a fly crib in Miami, NY, London, Italy, Spain,Africa, Asia, Austraila, Paris...so on and so forth

every pair of shoes I always wanted but couldn't afford....

and if I have shoes I'd have to have clothes...

beautiful men to feed me, bathe me, drive me around, massage me, clean for me, cook for me, run errands...so on so forth graemlins/rofl.gif

not to age beyond 30

sons to be grown up and out the house...

never to have to work again...
