If there are or were celebs or athletes in the house? I remember when Dennis Rodman used to come to G.L.E.E. parties at Crobar..he would be leaning on the bar with a group of trashy looking white women around him and I'm thinking this party aint no better just because he's here. People started coming to the party just because they heard he partied there. As a club owner I can see it but as a party-goer I really didn't give a hoot if there were celebs in the house or not. We were way too intense for their asses anyways.

That was part of the reason that I liked Shelter so much. Very real and down to earth.

I have seen and heard of a few celebs there, though. Bono/Edge from U2, Madonna, Roy Ayers. I can't front. I was kinda excited to see Roy Ayers. I've been such a huge fan of his all my life. Din't talk to him, though. I was weeded and a little freaked out. Shit, He probably was, too. heh heh

I did hear Justin Timberlake was at Shelter once..
On the DL.. Just sitting down chillin, people barely recognized him.. That I think its pretty nice.. Instead of having a whole bunch of preople around you like hello I'm here...

DON'T CARE. THAT REMINDS ME OF OUR COMPANY CHRISTMAS PARTY LAST YEAR.I WORK AT A HOSPITAL. ME AND A COWORKER COORDINATED THE WHOLE THING. WE GOT THIS GUY WHO WORKS AT OUR DOWNTOWN HOSPITAL TO ENTERTAIN. HE SHOWS UP WITH BERNADETTE STANIS (THELMA FROM GOOD TIMES). AND SHE STILL LOOKS GOOD. PEOPLE WERE COMING FROM ALL OVER THE HOSPITAL CAUSE WORD SPREAD LIKE WILDFIRE. I JUST REMEMBER THINKING THAT SHE HAS NOTHING ELSE TO DO CAUSE SHE STAYED LIKE 3 HOURS AND THEN SHE WAS AT A COUPLE OF SHOWS THEY THREW AT THE EAST OF THE RYAN NO LESS. THEIR PRESENCE DOESN'T MAKE THE MUSIC BETTER THAN IT IS. AND THEY AIN'T DANCING EITHER.

I did a party for Rodman at Tavern last summer in Southampton...people do care...and they come to gawk...as is their right - different strokes for different folks

Rodman was MAD cool..didn't cause a fuss..drank a lot and had some fine women with him (pussy is pink)...as a busines person it makes a lot of sense to do this

We have also paid promotional fees to "celebrities" to appear in our clubs...the ROI made it all more than worthwhile and increased our press coverage, name recognition and hype - a smooth business move

but then again i'm in the club BUSINESS

celebs are good business, but they don't do anything for the people. most just come to clubs and hang out. they usaully don't dance and the rest of the regulars try to catch a glance. the club i worked at in hollywood had celebs on certain nights. no biggie. i liked it better when they had the deja vu strippers come by. i will say this bill maher drinks a lot. grant hill is ultra chill. the others i can't remember.
