so the other day i'm about to get into my car, when i notice it's covered with a fair amount of ash from the fires in southern california. i stood there staring at the ashes and it all came at once. those ashes are peoples dreams destroyed, homes lost, people homeless and loved ones dead. it was a very humbling moment. then you go to work or wait in line somewhere or even have a laugh and it's different. these things become more trivial. all these material things we work so hard for and everything else mean nothing without family and friends to share with, poke fun at, laugh, eat, worry, cry with.... it's nothing. so it was a rare moment when i truly understood what it is i have in my life and how lucky i really am. i hope those people that are losing or are close to losing everything have what i have, 'cuz i know that will get them thru such a dark time. peace!

Those ashes are the residue of the illusion that you can move away from the destruction of the inner-city and have a safe life.
Everyone in those communities knew they were at risk, but hey, it's worth it not to have to see Mexican's whenever they're not cutting your grass.

Not red from the vapor of burning matter.
But red from the blood of past aggression.
When you maimed the opportunity to INCLUDE.
When you scarred the opportunity to PROVIDE.
When you killed the opportunity to UNIFY.
The red sun reflects your hidden bloodlust.
Your undercover obsession to violently separate yourselves from other human beings.
All in the illusion of homesteading.
