During who's production work would you like to have been a fly on the wall, to see how they created that track you consider is a classic.
For me, from the era that got me into music, Probly alot of the early electro stuff, Arthur Baker's work. Adonis - the poke, still love the over all sound of it from that era. Frankie Knuckles, Your Love - the vocals not that great, but the over all mix with that simple arpeggio, so good. Jellybean's work on Holiday. Quincy Jones - off the wall, pure genius. Too many house producers for me to list.
Alot of old funk and disco stuff that I'd like to have been a fly on the wall for, but I have no idea who produced some that rare stuff, as they are on white lable/bootlegs etc.

Straight of the top of my head...
I'd would have loved to be a fly on the wall for some of the Salsoul sessions ie "Make No Man Put Us Under" with all them fantastic musicians, Masters At Work Nuyorican Soul project, For the techno and hiphop, just sitting in the studio with Kevin Saunderson and Hank Shocklee respectively...

Yes, nice choice - love MAW's production work on just about everything I've heard from them + Kevin Saunderson's work too.

I would have loved to see any of the great dubby disco mixers work on a dub side
FK, Tee Scott, Walter Gibbons, etc.
Also would love to have watched Patrick Adams lay down those funky synth lines and also Gary Davis workin in the studio on raw stuff like Space Walking/Slow Walking.
Rinder & Lewis (crazy bastards) and whoever the AVI ME was (those records have a truly distinct sound, almost digital)
The legendary Black Renaissance session
Cymande 1st album sessions
I would say Robotnick, but you can watch him in the studio on youtube. Same goes for Lee Perry and Scientist.

King Tubby in real time would be incredible, Quincy Jones with MJ for pop production. Seeing how Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis come up with their productions would be crazy too... Was also cool to get a fly like window into D Ferrer's process during the Q&A.

When Buddy Holly was in his garage recording, there was a cricket in the room that they kept hearing. After that they named the group Buddy Holly & The Crickets.

Thats an intersting mix of artists - the Stooges would be intersting. If you were a fly on the wall of the Happy Mondays you'd be lucky to get out alive from the chemicals in the room ,hahahaha.

Well, I think I could not count them all but to name a few:
- Beach Boys "Pet Sounds"
- David Axelrod "Song of Innocent"
- Jaco Pastorius "Jaco Pastorius"
- John Coltrane "My Favorite Things" & "A Love Supreme"
- Beastie Boys "Licensed To Ill"
- Ken Lou "The Bounce"
- Jamie Principle "Your Love"
- Derrick May "Strings Of Life"
- Steve Reich "Music For 18 Musicians"
- Moodyman "Music People"
- Kenny Bobien "I Shall Not Be Moved"
- Larry Heard (everything !!!)
And of course the guys like Larry Levan, Walter Gibbons, Shep Pettibone, Kervorkian and all those unknown 12" disco pioneers.
Edit: Totally forgot about Gene Perez...my hero. What a genius. God bless you (just in case he hasnīt done it already ;) ).
