Greetings

What exactly do you want to learn if you pay for a music production course/book???

For instance, maybe you might be interested in mixing, using effects, learning a software, the history or maybe mastering. I know mastering is not part of music production, just trying to make everything clear :)

I just want to know why YOU would join a music production course or buy a book about music production. What exactly are you expecting to learn???

Even if you hate these courses and books please specify why, what is it that they don't offer?

This may be a different answer than what you expected, but I enjoy the secondary benefits of music tutorials. I've seen the Sonic Academy line of videos more than any, and what I enjoy are the different takes on using the same piece of software.
In Ableton, one can do the same thing in many different ways. Seeing many different ways of doing one thing has really helped broaden my knowledge of Ableton and music production as a whole.
