On the real Knowledge it's not like back in the day, now anything you want to do or learn is a Google & You tube click away. Most times you will find your answer with those outlets before you can reach someone on a forum or phone. I been finding myself looking at you tube to brush up my skillz on tips & tricks i have not done in years, As well as learn some new stuff. It's all there.

Peace

MPK 88 BOUT $600 TO-$700 NEW. may find it cheaper used. George Mena has it in his studio. Its a hot joint. If i was to set up a real full studio again i would move on something like that.

dam dipp, I almost picked it up last night but after looking at things closer, its just not in the budget.....I saw one for 538 brand new, will upgrade later on. features look solid.

I got a used m audio keystation 88 ES for 150...should hold me in the interim.

Great you got an 88 key joint you like. At the end of the day it's all about getting what works for you in your price range.

There is always going to be something in the high end range that will work, but there will also be a lower price range piece that will work just fine. Alot of people these days are just doing it as an hobby (myself included) so it's no need to buy $30.000+ worth of studio gear. unless you just got it like that. U feel me?

check out the M-Audio ones. Decent bang for your buck, meaning, you won't go broke.

A lot of people make the mistake of spending too much money because they've been "told" what brands to buy. The best way to go about it is to buy what you can afford and learn the inexpensive way. Also, you learn your limitations and you can THEN buy something better based on what you need.

A lot of folks buy those controllers with the MPC style pads on them. Personally, I don't use those, so why buy that kind of controller?

Ask yourself what kind of music you'll be making, and then do some comparison shopping based on those needs.

( and i'm learning more that weighted keys are WAAAAAAY better than non-weighted ones. I didn't think it made a difference, but it does. )
