Warm Greetings Guys

I have been checking out a lot of great reviews about the Universal Audio UAD-2 (http://musicproduction-and-djing-lessons.blogspot.com/2011/03/universal-audio-uad-2-quad.html) Quad DSP Accelerator Card. So far most of the reviews I read are positive, and they are tempting me to go get it.

I would like to know if there is anyone on this forum who uses the UAD-2 package, even if you are not using the Quad. Would you recommend anyone to invest on one of these???

Do you guys think the UAD-2 Quad is the best mixing and mastering tool and is there anything close to this (in terms of sound quality)???

Your insight is much appreciated.

Never used or seen it but it's a pci card my instinct says and external sound card will be better

So I would question this package

Yeah brother, I also think an external sound card might sound better.
I wonder why there's only a few people who use this, it has got great reviews. Anyway thanx for sharing your view about this brother

I have never use the UAD 2 cards yet. but I was on the UAD 1 card when it first came out & it was one of the best moves for me at that time. If i used a computer program that could use the UAD 2 i would pick up one. They were doing those vintage compressor & eq before alot of these plug in companies. The sound back then was spot on so i'm excited to see what they sound like today.

As for why alot of people don't use them, maybe MONEY. Most of the bedroom producers use cracked software & plug ins & when you can use the cracked version of waves plug ins you might not run out and buy a $1000+ PCI card. I could be wrong but its just my take on things.

I use Record/Reason software right now so i can't use VST plug ins but if i ever move into a vst software program i'll be getting a UAD 2 or 3 or what ever number they will be on by then.

Stay Blessed

I do agree, they have a good reputation.

Yeah, they are not budget friendly. I haven't heard any negative things about the UA at the moment, so I think they are worth the price.

In the past few years I have found that each and everytime I buy studio gear I spend more time on it, trying everything possible to make it sound as good as possible. Unlike when I use cracked software or plugins.

I believe investing a few bucks on equipment keeps me going. That's just my 2cent :)

Thanx for sharing your insight brother Duron.

Stay Blessed!!!

I know 2 people that use and love it but it didn't convince me to go out and get it. I don't use any cracked and/or stolen software. PSP Warmer and Izotope Ozone do me just fine.

Like all things, you've got to try them out and judge for yourself.

Hey guys, funnily enough I have been conducting a lot of research into Universal Audio products recently and they are the real deal.

I am just about to purchase one of these: http://www.dv247.com/computer-hardware/universal-audio-uad-2-satellite-duo-firewire-dsp-accelerator--82723

The UAD 2 satellite duo will allow me to run UA plug-ins on my MacBook Pro; via Firewaite 400/800. This will preserve my own CPU and provide studio quality DSP. Included in this purchase is the “Analog Classics” plug-in bundle, featuring LA-2A Classic Audio Leveler, 1176LN/SE Classic Limiting Amplifiers, Pultec EQP-1A and RealVerb Pro plug-ins.

Plenty to get stuck into.

Also considering the Euphonix MC MIx
