Got an idea for a mash-up and I wanted to know if audacity would be a good tool to use. If not, any suggestions.

Good question. JMJ may have the answer to that one.

I cant speak for anyone else, but I havent been able to do with
that software. Usually, I just try to record the songs in high resolution,
and then do them in traktor. If the songs have live drums and such, then
I will use my decks, and if needed, a pvdj grabber. After that, I go into my
audio restoration software and just tweek what I need to tweek.

would ableton live intro be sufficient?

I also agree with the above.. Ableton.

And Yes Ableton Live Intro will be sufficient, but there will be limits, simply because it is not the 'Full Suite'.. They would be :stupid: if there are no limits  .

But You can get the job done with it.

not sure. I know Ableton Live (not suite) would be. Not sure what's missing on the entry level ableton.

Ableton really is the only game right now with Time Stretching.

Everytime i think Im ready for ableton, I get scared off of it. I cant seem to
get past the basic introduction stuff. Otherwise, Id be all in it.

Just give in to a week of banging your head against the wall. That's all it should take.

I am 100% sure You can do it in ableton live intro, just not sure how it will limit YOU, but You can.

I've used Traktor DJ Studio to make a couple of mash-ups that came out pretty well.

I believe it's how comfortable you are with the program you are using.

Imma dl it again, and give a focused week; see if I can figure it out
without the headbanging.

This is pretty cool, man. Gonna download this.

The last mashes I did were on Traktor Pro. They werent as neat and tidy as I hoped, but
they are workable. My current project is giving me a lil bit of a time as the song does not
flow normally. But having access to 4 decks is making things a lil more easy.

Hope you like it! I've just recently started using Traktor Pro and it seems you need to put a little more effort into it than with Traktor DJ Studio. I guess I have to get used to it.

I've also tried Ableton and never got past the intro. That is a program you have devote your full attention and about a afternoon of time but I'm gonna try it again soon.

Traktor pro needs a lot more effort to get the most out of it. Ive been messing with it for
at least 2 years now, and there is still so much about it I havent even learned to take advantage of.

Im gonna get back into trying ableton in the future. I just need to set aside some time
to really give it my full attention.
