I seriously considering going to another program such as Reason, Protools, and Cubase in the near future, but over the weekend while working on a track I found some interesting tricks that can save time, memory, and yes your hair!!!!!

Reference Files!!!!!!

What are these? It's a wave or midi file that contains loads of melodies, chords, or basslines that you can grab from, rather than creating a new file all the time within the program, thus killing your memory and hard drive space.

Say you have a track that has two or three basslines. Instead of making them seperate files, you create a reference file that contains all three basslines. Drag and drop the parts into whatever area you want to place them within the song.

The end result is you eliminate alot of memory issues, you kill alot of system hang ups, and you're able to sequence and edit your music much faster.

And one more thing, a Fender Rhodes sound with the right effects can be a sick rhythm guitar.

Peace
