Dam that controller looks sweet. I wonder how the pads feel? Was thinkin bout getting that akai mpd controller but instead i might just get this.

The keys are the same as on the microKORG, tiny and stiff. The pads look a little on the small side too when you try to imagine the scale, but we'll have to wait and see how they feel.
If you want something compact with pads and don't care if they're smaller than the MPC, for the same money as the MPD you can get a used Boss DR-660. The pads are velocity sensitive, but lack pressure sensitivity (just like the Korg). If you've ever programmed a pressure sensitive patch on a MPC before, you will know that this feature is of questionable usefulness anyway when making beats. The bonus with the 660 is that it's compact, lightweight, and you get a stand alone drum machine with many great sounds. If you caught the Metro Area live in Belgium video, you can see them working those pads to the max through the whole show. Roll and flam are cool too. Just a thought.
