THURSDAY • JUNE 30 • 2011 • LONG WEEKEND!

10PM-3AM UNDER THE SUN, MOON & STARS AT SUNNYSIDE!

Music lovers, join us On June 30 under the sun, moon and stars at Sunnyside as DJ Black Coffee from South Africa launches a tour with a message. In his own words, he describes the message behind The Soulistic experience…

“Soulistic is about living a full and vibrant life and embracing all its possibilities. It’s about winning despite adversity, sharing with loved ones, and helping those in need”

Coffee's own encounter with disability has led him to want to help others. In 1990 a car driver celebrating the release of Nelson Mandela, spun his vehicle out of control into a crowd of children killing one and crushing young Black Coffee's arm. A talented young musician in school, Coffee was all of a sudden being excluded from playing instruments in music class. This caused incredible frustration for the young music lover. Somehow, despite all this adversity, Coffee pushed onwards and upwards to achieve success. He is now considered to be one of the finest DJs and producers of soulful deep house on the planet playing for crowds in the tens of thousands around the world.

Coffee's struggles growing up after his accident eventually led to a personal revelation and he shared it with an audience during his speech at a Black Coffee Foundation Gala and Fundraiser in South Africa: (watch the video!)

Right after this speech, Black Coffee went straight to another fundraiser organized by his foundation in which he DJ'd for over 60 hours straight to raise more funds for his charity and effectively breaking the WORLD RECORD for the longest music set ever by a single DJ. That's two and a half days straight folks, and he did all this with the use of only one arm!

Coffee's message is clear. Disabled or not, you CAN overcome adversity and you CAN do anything you want in life... now... LET’S DANCE!!!
