We're doin' it again!!! I've been hinting around about the picnic, and here it is. The official DHP/Chicago Family Picnic will take place on Satuday, June 14th, from noon 'til dark at Calumet Woods, located just south of 127th on Ashland Avenue!! The Calumet Woods is a nice, secluded spot with lots of room, plenty of parking, and fishing is available also. This is your chance to get together with all of your friends from DHP and enjoy a fun-filled day of good music, food, drinks, and whatever else! We did it last year in September and everyone had a good time, so we're doing it again!! Bring your food, drinks, grills, chairs, etc. and get ready to have a great time. Everybody pitches in!! Come see Leonard Remix Rroy cook Engelwood Brontosaurus Steaks on the smallest grill known to man!! We'll provide the spot and the music!! The DJ line-up isn't completely set yet, but I'll let you know who's playing in the next few days. For those of you from out of town, feel free to come to Chicago and join us. We'll be setting something up (discounted rates) with a few of the local hotels in the next few days, so start making your plans now!! I've been informed that there may be a surprise visitor from the North!! There will also be an after-party later that night, and I'll provide the details very soon!! Being able to go a little later had alot to do with holding the picnic in June this year. weather was a factor also. Leonard was cooking hot links on that grill. The smaller, even rustier grill is the one he used to torch the Englewood Bronto Steak. The grill had a huge hole in the bottom of it and had to be euthenized after the picnic. Leonard claims to have another one just like it.....JMJ :D

I'll say a few words...

Baby Rus, I only knew you for a few hours, but it seemed like a lifetime. When your owner, Leonard Rroy brought you out and started you up, I must admit, I chuckled a bit to myself privately.

But when Leonard pulled out the Englewood Bronto steak, and gently laid it on top of you, you wobbled a bit, but you stood strong, and surprised me as well as the other folks in attendance.

You were a tough, albeit rusty little grill, and you cooked that succulent piece of meat thoroughly. Then you collapsed into a molten ash; and the breeze from the Chicago Police Car that screeched to a stop next to us and ordered us to "Get the hell outta the park NOW", blew you away.

Baby Rus, I only knew you for a few hours, but it seemed like a lifetime. When your owner, Leonard Rroy brought you out and started you up, I must admit, I chuckled a bit to myself privately.

But when Leonard pulled out the Englewood Bronto steak, and gently laid it on top of you, you wobbled a bit, but you stood strong, and surprised me as well as the other folks in attendance.

You were a tough, albeit rusty little grill, and you cooked that succulent piece of meat thoroughly. Then you collapsed into a molten ash; and the breeze from the Chicago Police Car that screeched to a stop next to us and ordered us to "Get the hell outta the park NOW", blew you away.
