i'm working with a philanthropy group that's trying to support 2 charities in nyc. one is a program for underserved parents/infants age 0-3. the other is aafter school programs for middle school students. these are programs that are starting up in nyc and if successful will roll out nation-wide.
we're having a big gala event in nyc every year, last year we raised $1 million for breast cancer research. this year we're raising money for the 2 charities i just named. at the event there is an auction which is how we raise most of the money. the people going to the event are mostly millionaire hedge fund investors and investment managers.
so i was wondering if there are any nyc/nj dj's who might be willing to donate a set to be auctioned off, so that people could bid on having you come and spin at their party.
it's tax deductible, and it could be considered p.r., plus the money is going to some really good causes that don't get a lot of press.
