i hope the lady's join in on this one too, recently i broke up with my girlfriend and in a discussion with like minded friends (about love of music) thay asked women or house music.i honestly think that love for the music is stronger then that if the opposite sex (im still a bit burned maybe ;).

theres nothing better than hearing a tune that gets your blood going, you get excited and think bout what you want to do with your music.havent felt that yet with a woman.granted the love is there but is it deep in the heart.

id love to know what others think.

i heard before thought that the perfect woman is like a record.they are

1.curved in all the right places
2.dark
3.sound good
4.have a hole in the middle.

peace and respect

No, not me .. I think I get where you are coming from. I'm just saying, folks are kind of sensitive on the board today. Just giving you a heads up ...

Me? Hmmm ... women always come first (or as Austin Powers said, sometimes never ... BWA, HA, HA!! Just a freakin' joke!).

I can not hear a record in along time and still get excited when I do.

I can wipe the record down and it's ready to go again.

But then again...Damn ....there she goes again..

I have felt this way since I was a teenager. I love women to death but as others have stated, nothing moves you like the music, the sound, the experience. It is just about better than any euphoria besides maybe the birth of a child or great, great sex. I have always told my girlfriends that I love music/dj-ing/ the culture like a woman. Most thought it was a quote cliche when I first said it but came to realize it was 100% true. I read a quote by Duke Ellington once that said "Music is my mistress". I can totally see where he was coming from. The music will be there ALWAYS!!!

I'll put it this way there are a decent amount of members of the opposite sex to connct with. But if you gave up house what would you connect with?

I can't believe that someone would honestly consider this a choice. A human being vs a piece of vinyl. This is crazy!! Maybe it's not that seriuos for me. Tell that to the women that come to your parties..if you have any. This is the most nerdy, geeky, shit i've read since..well this morning. A record over a woman get the fvck outta here. This is a joke right??

Music has always been there for me when the ladies have not.

Music actually made it easier (at times) to get closer to women. (how many times have you had a woman over and put on the right music the set the mood off?)

As far as vinyl versus human, no.

But I think the original question was based on the brother breakin' up with his woman.

Check out Nuyorican soul

"The music in my life has kept me though all of the changes the world has put me throug."

When a woman breaks your heart, who do you turn to...music. (okay Rich maybe weed but that's besides the point icon_rofl.gif )

Not feelin this at all. Thanks for another example of the boys club.No wonder females think most guys into house are gay. They would rather see what a cat is playing on the tables, than going over to a table to rap a taste at a lady.

Yeah, music is an outlet for me.It does not make my world go round. It does not pay the bills for me.It does not loan me any money when I need it.It does not hug me,feed me,carress me.

Fuck a record.Give me a woman.

If you have problems with women or relationships, maybe the women are not the problem.Maybe it's the music...or the man in the mirror.

What trips me out about this whole discussion is that it assumes that one's only choices are relating or records. What kind of relationship worth keeping requires a person to give up his or her creative center? What keeps a person from being able to connect with others to the extent that s/he totally excludes significant romantic partnership from life and chooses what for most people is little more than an expensive hobby? Most sane partnerships that have any depth involve folks who can appreciate that whether the interest is shared or individual a healthy relationship requires that the partners be able to direct some part of their energy and attention outside of the relationship.

mate, you just said you recently broke up with your lady.... it's normal to feel that way. Let music make you feel better, that's fine, but don't become a slave to the music and don't let it drown you into a mental scheme where you fall back on music to get you out of miserable situations. Sure it will do the job, but how much will you lose and how little will you gain? A bad experience should not dictate your future relations. Hope you can find a way to reconcile yourself with women ;)

Hope you can find a way to reconcile yourself with women ;) Bro, music doesn't just "make me feel better". That is such an understatement!!!!! Music IS who I am. Period. I don't abuse music by turning to it only when I'm miserable!!!!!!!! I never turn to it. It's always in front of me at all times. It dictates how I live my life and how I treat others. Whether I'm 9 or 99, I will forever be a music slave!!....

I love women (trust me I LOVE WOMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and the essence of woman.

And of course, my response has everything to do with past experiences and enlightenments, whether they were positive or negative. Actually, even negative is actually POSITIVE. Don't get me wrong on that. Our experiences mould us into the people we are today. And we will forever be changing and "re-moulding" as time goes on, which is a good thing.

But to answer the question of this topic:
If I had to choose between music (being a monk) or women, there would be no question in my mind that music would prevail.

And yes, I feel this way due to all of my positive and Godly experiences (and enlightenments) from the past. Peace

I know my post came after yours, but I was actually replying to the original poster who recently broke up with his girl...

I live by music too, it's there in the morning when I wake up, it's there during the day and there at night when I sleep. It makes me feel good and sometimes, it travels with me in the darkest corners of my soul.

I think the question, even hypothetically speaking, is a non topic. Even if I was put in a room my whole life with a woman (or women ;) ) and that we had no music, hell, we'll create music. Let's take it to the extreme hypothetical situation: if I'm in this room and that I have a totalitarian regime watching my every move and making sure I didn't make nor listen to music, I'd still prefer the warm, cozy and confortable presence of a lady. Music will be in my mind anyways, no one can stop that.

But to get back to Shalewa's reply, I don't see where such a topic is going, why would I be blocked from being with someone and having the music that I like at the same time. Why choose between both?

You should know that there are many women out there who feel the same as a guy about music. You just need to find someone who can share your love of music and your human love will grow and transcend into a union of love.

There is something about music that is eternal. </font>[/QUOTE]Yeay you're right it was all hypothetical anyways..I couldn't really see a situation that would come up where a person would have to make a choice anyways...I really can't see life without either but I'll go to the ends of the Earth with a good woman beside me. So far all the women that I've dated seriously HATED house music but it didn't stop anything.

this thread is so bad it's subterranean.

there is not a day goes by, that i would not want to turn back some time, renege on some decisions, say some things that i should have said, undo some things that i did do, be where i should have been in the first place -

in exchange for a bunch of records, some wasted good times, and some misplaced, solitary tunes in my head.

and that's just talking about times past. this should have been a no-brainer, guys. i guess not.

peace. ngeso.

For all those picking music, you do realize many women sing on those records you're walking about with. So by choosing your records over women, that has to somehow eliminate all the vocals and albums done by women. graemlins/tongueout.gif

drew A similar question was asked before and the answer I gave then applies now. Try having sex with a record via the hole in the middle. If you can get it in there, you need to see a couple of doctors and call Ripley's, but don't tell anybody. That's like threading a needle.

If I had to choose between a fine-ass mama or a phat-ass cut like 'Global Communication' for example, it'll be negotiations time for me. I'll play G.C (joshua mix) at about 0% to -1% and fix up 2 big glasses of Kalhua and milk. Whisper sweet nothings and good shit, while the songs samples hit, 'I love the way you make me feel'.

Damn ya'll.. can you tell I could use a li'l sum'p sum'p my way??
