there's a professor with a reputation for being especially tough on christian (or any other spritual/god fearing) students. He'd always ask at the beginning of each new semester who the christians in his class were furthere mocking their faith.
One semester he got the usual response by one student to whom he asked "do you believe god made all things?" the student replied "why ofcourse!"...teacher-"so he made evil?" to which the student had no reply and embarrased remained silent. once again the professor was satisfied to have once again proven the christian faith wrong and nothing more than a myth. a fellow student got up and asked the professor "sir, do you believe there is such a thing as the cold?"
professor-"what kind of a silly question is that? ofcourse there is the cold, have you not felt it yourself?"
student-"well, actually sir, there is technically no such thing as the cold, absolute zero is nothing but a relative abscence of heat. do you believe in the dark?"
p-"obviously yes!"
s-"it's not a tangible! dark is the absence of tangible light! you obviously still believe in an evil right?"
i'm personally amused by how i'm viewed due to my faith. i don't attend church or profess to be a member of a religious group but have never had the reasons for my spiritual convictions respected or held valid. i don't need validation but you can never come to a consensus with someone who outright closes the door on the possibility of an INTANGIBLE spiritual realm. to those that think that there is such a thing as irrefutable fact (free from all error and mental lapsed judgement) i dare you to prove to me the things you've concluded in you're life to be free from faith and a strong sense of intuition at best.
i have much to say on the topic but want to hear your voice first.
much respect
