Stopping smoking

Just wondering how other people have got on giving up, i've been on the patches for over a week and haven't had a single cigarette, i'm pretty proud of myself, here's hoping I can keep it going. smile.gif

best of luck man! i quit cold turkey for two years, then was in a pretty bad car wreck, so started again because of the intense stress i was under. anyway...best of luck to you! gives me inspiration...don't quit quitting!!!

I quit smoking about 6 weeks ago, and I've done rather OK. I had two cigs at a party two weeks ago, but no more than that.

Thanks guys, i've not smoked a joint ( thats been the hardest thing) my pipe is getting big licks at least theres no tobacco in there graemlins/grinyes.gif

Went 8 mos about 3 years ago and started up again...
It has now been 6 weeks ( exactly tody )since I have smoked. I need to go 1 year. I have given up drinking anything more than 2 drinks which was the reason I only wen 8 mos. last itme.

I used Zyban - It made every cigarette taste progressively worse and I just stopped without giving it too much thought.

The side effects were not too enjoyable though.

Imagine crashing for 24 hrs a day... :(

But the ends did justify the means...

I have been stocking up on patches for awhile but have not had the courage to quit. How did you finally sum up the courage to just slap the damn thing on and ride the merry-go-round? :(
