ALMA, the Soul of Brazil in NYC, welcomes veteran DJ Richard Vasquez to the decks.
From his journey through house history as a respected graphic designer, DJ, club owner and host with the most to his current life as a Miami real estate agent and first-time producer, Richard Vasquez has always found success by following his heart. A true old-school innovator he's credited with throwing some of the wildest underground parties ever (both private and at the LES venue, The Choice) and for giving musical refuge to the industry's most revered talent, Larry Levan in his final days. At nearly sixty years old, Richard's softspoken nature and deeply spiritual soul is still laying it down with the Aquabooty crew in Miami and others worldwide.
DJ True and Miller Cruz will be pulling their usual double duty on the decks and percussion while Manchildblack and Joann Jimenez handle hosting with care to ensure that down-home Brazilian family feeling. Come join the dancers, the musicians, the spirit that is ALMA, and get to know the man who gave us a Choice after the Garage, Richard Vasquez.
