Christmas flava Top 5 Dance Tracks
part one
Monday, December 16th, 2002
1. Roy Ayers-Running Away/Ploydor (1977)
This is my personal Christmas time favorite; play it out in the middle of a set, around 1:20, then bump it! Roy Ayers is an unbelievable musician. Listening to his music will uplift you soul. Drop this in a holiday mix.
2. Men From Watch-Them Come/Underground Therapy
The Nile (1999)
Roy Davis Jr. and Peven Everett deliver a funk rendition with a classic bump choon. Pack this in your record bag and take it to that family party you’re DJ’ing at – trust me, hit em’ up with your version of holiday soul and get Nana on the dance floor.
3. Bob Sinclar Eu so quero um xodo Columbia feat. (1997)
Slome De Bahia
Right off the bat it mixes well if you it rock after ‘Watch Them Come’ … this song is wonderful, and if you or someone you know has it, pull it out and brush it off … give it a spin this year. Faces will light up with delight!
4. Blaze-How Deep Is Your Love/Life Line (2001)
The bassline alone will get people shaking their asses and asking you who the artist is….you want to know why? Because this song is tight, energetic and well composed. And on the soul-meter, it reaches about a 9.9 out of 10.A smooth and groovy house anthem … great for some holiday soul
5. Be Be Winans-Brand New Dance/Motown (2000)
Be Be’s vocal is fantastic > this song is a lot of fun to play, it will push your audience to prime form during a crazy holiday shakedown. This is a recent release, and has emerged as one of the nicest male vocals to hit rotation in 2000/01
