Recently, i experienced a crackling problem everytime i recorded into cubase sx. Now, mind you, i just purchased a brand new "delta 1010lt" card, and updated cubase's sx drivers and such. But the cracklin persisted anyway.
A friend of mine, whom is a computer guru tech, helped me remember something i did a couple of weeks ago, as far as checking diagnostics on the computer and at that point, i was ready to return the soundcard and all, thinkin it was defective........so i did somethin unusual and uninstalled my video card drivers....restarted my system and "viola!!!" card works and all!!!
Lets just say that at times, when you install a video card, let windows find the best drivers for it. Come to find out that the video card's drivers were secretly conflicting with my soundcard's asio drivers. If this happens to you, try unintalling your video drivers, and let windows set it's own drivers for you on "restart". should work just fine. My tech buddie suggested finding the update drivers for my video card and i said "no way!!" "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" :D
