Wondering if we can come up with a list of well known house/disco tunes as examples of different modes.

The 7-note modes :

Major /Ionian
Dorian
Phrygian
Lydian
Mixolydian
Minor /Aeolian
Locrian

You also have pentatonic and hexatonic modes, and I bring them up just in case, but I don't know if there is any house /disco music written in those modes necessarily. If so, please, let's hear it!

no no. people were saying in another thread that the dorian mode is used a lot house/disco. So, maybe some other modes are used, as well. I think if we had a short list of examples of whatever mode being used, one could get the sound of the mode in one's ear, and in the future, be more aware of what you are listening to.

That's all. Music is fun! it's not "homework".
