Hey all in producer land.
I am suffering from a latency problem with my Cubase.

My drums are all on point but my Cubse Synth(s) are so late when I stroke the keys.

I was trying to adjust the latency function but I could notlocate it in the device preference/setup.

Has anyone had this problem before and if so how did you fix the problem?

Right now Im stuck on stupid with this and some help would be well appreciated..

Can any one help me?

Thanks in advance... hail.gif

graemlins/respekt.gif </font>[/QUOTE]I have a musician’s mentality. That's why I enjoy FL. I had Cubase SX Demo but I think I was intimidated. I am very comfortable with Cool Edit Pro and Wavelab. I have Cakewalk but I have a short attention span with full 6 min tracks. I create these loops that sound good even to some UK internet acquaintances but I never finish the production. I just go to next loop. One time I called myself loopman. I think it’s because I was trained as a basses. That’s why I loved Larry Levan. He was one bass record playing DJ.

You know when you DJ and you throw in a jam and you remix it with an awesome bass loop, that's what I like.

I am from NYC...115th street..Jefferson Projects..boy I miss my harlem peeps.

I know you just ask what's my programs. graemlins/conf44.gif what came over me.

Keith I'm assuming you've got the Operation Manual? It should be a pdf file in the Cubase SX folder.

In there it explains how to configure your soundcard settings.

It's possible that the soundcard you are using just doesn't have low enough latency to work well for playing software instruments.. there are many that don't. The Motu should work great though.

I have the pdf help fille and it's my sound card 4sure.

The problem is that I just got this PC built and I am trying to load all my programs along with previous work. Basically Im still working Out the kinks.
The last sys I had the Sound blaster live sound card so I had no problems with getting sounds to play.

I know your probably saying why didn't I switch the sound card and the problem there is I sold the old PC to build this one.. Yicks!

Anyways Im on the road to putting together a nice studio with the help of you and other experience people.

This week I will be getting a new Motu 828 and the Midi time piece.

I look forward to hearing what you work with and the system you use.

Hey Keith
Ok if your using the 828...the way to adjust the latency is in the Motu control panel. Motu usually gives you access through your Programs Menu. If you have a fast enough cpu you can get the latency down to about 7ms which is excellent. That's where i'm at now and I've got no issues with VstI's at all. If your using another brand of soundcard then it's all dependent on the company's driver and whether they made an asio driver or not. If you don't have an asio driver because of the sound card then your pretty much relegated to using either the multimedia driver or the directx driver which SX will allow you to use. There's no way with those drivers that your gonna get those vsti's to act the way they're supposed to. So what you'll have to do is get a better audio card. If you need any help just e me. I got ya back...
oh by the way you need to hook me up with this old track on Diaspora...The cd you gave me got scratched up...

peace
Dee

I used to do edits way back in the day with reels and razors.. LOL

I sold my reel long time ago but I kept my Digitech 7.6 then got the 8000.

I never wanted to go studio because I have always invested my $$$$ in DJ equipment and its been 24 yrs now..
I have all kinds of bass bottoms, mid range speakers and amps.. I will dei will QSC's and Fane drivers.. lol

Now that times have changed and studio euipment is much cheaper I ventured into it via Computers.

I the 24yrs of music I have always done projects just so I can play at parties and now I want to take it to a higher level. I want the best of both worlds.

Like I said I will be getting the Motu 828 this weekend no Doubt!

I have been using Reason and sonar for the past 2 yrs. I like them both but I want to be more flexable.

I have crazy talented people around me every day and I want to put that talent to use and I also want to have the equipment the studio ready on deman!

I am working with Reason 2.5, Sonar 2.0, Acid Pro 4.0, Logic 5 and now Cubase sx.
All my editing I do in Soundforge 6.0.
Here is one of my edits the I entered in the DHP contest this year.

My DHP Edit for 2004 (http://www.musicplantrecords.com/dhp/dhpedit21.rm)

If that doesn't work click this link

Enjoy and give me some feed back!
