I work on a mac and I have plenty of musical sources that I can't edit in Peak or in Protools.
examples : the alarm sounds of my mac (bleep-tut-wooop), or some realplayer files, or windows media player files...

Peak or protools or reasons can't open those so I can't edit them.

The prob is that i don't have a CD recorder but just a tape recorder, so if I record the sounds on a tape then record them back on my CPU via Peak or Protools, it will loose quality.

Do you know how I could record the sounds that comes out of my mac without having to use an external recorder ? (software, freeware or any trick using my softwares)

thanks

and this forum is really a very good one, i learn every day great things and i see that I need to learn a lot and lot more !

Assuming you're on OS X try Audio Hijack:

why not try an mp3 or minidisc recorder that will connect to your mac via USB plug? Much cheaper and more portable than a CD recorder and still digital quality.
