but what are some good "house chords". I can't seem to find anything other than minor7's and major7's to sound good.

Just play around with the inversions of the min and maj 7ths.
I cant help you out with using tritones in housemusic, somehow you need some more theory to work with them. I want to learn how to use chords with +5ths and diminished fifths.
Kerry Chandler knows how to use them very well.

Well you can start with this:
keep your minor and major 7's/9s. just change the bass notes and you'll stumble into the wonderful world of whats commonly called the "sus" . i was gonna leave it at that, but here's an example:
CMaj7. (C,E,G,B) . Change/add an A in the bass (root)= A minor9 (A,C,E,G,B).
Cool...now change the bass note to D = D(sus4)7. Cool eh? now invert that CMAJ7 in your right hand (so now its D (left hand),G,B,C,E (right hand)) ...sounds familiar eh?
How you wanna use it is up to your own ears.
the invoice is in the mail ;)
I found this handy app. It's shareware but it comes with 10 free uses.

I like the chord memory function on my Poly 800, if you find a chord you like you can easily transpose it useing this function.
