Hello DEEPDOWNINSIDE,
Do you have the acapella already?
Do you want to bump the tempo up, down or keep the same tempo?

Here goes some links while someone that actually uses those gears comes to the rescue:

Part 2

Try to answer the first two question.

Hey Thanks So much for the info! I am going to try some of those steps out and maybe if Im smart enough i will figure it out.
Oh so you aren't confused I DO NOT ALREADY HAVE THE BRANDY ACCAPELLA. I am going to have to make my own using some of those steps to lift it out of the mix. I think there is one I thought I saw it on her lables catalouge list?
Just another rant ... YO, I was thinking, if there is a school to go to for producing tracks there should be a final exam where the students have to make an accapella from a selected track... I can see it now. The Professor hands each student an LP and says "Class, everyone must turn in an accapella using this LP... This will determine your final grade in this course."
The class groans....."ahhh man"

If I wanted to bump up the tempo, can I do it in cubase with the timestretcher if not then what should I do.
Also I got a beat constructed now and I got the Brandy accapella now. Is it just that easy to match the tempo and drop the accapella on the beat. or am I going to have to chop it up. Finally if I do have to chop it up what should I use I have an MPC cubase xs, Peak and Reason. graemlins/conf44.gif

You could just lie the accapella on top but you want to remix then you have to get all the parts as if you were getting all the colors to paint.
Remember you only have to chop intro, verse1 verse 2 chorus1 verse 3 chorus2 break1, break2...etc. so you could end up with about 10 parts of acapella at least.
Then you may want to copy a word or phrase from here tor there and them in a dub mix with effects or in the breaks of the mix to blister an eargasm... biggrinangel.gif
I wouldn't be surprise if some folks have the acapella separated even finer like each word (may be to much) or for sure each phrase. But that is up to you at least each sentence or until she takes a breathe-chop thats one.
I'll be back with more info on this and your other question, which I think Reason is a chopper and hopefully some officinato can give real details on how to do this - patience is key because the end product will have you smiling.

~Basti You can find many accapellas on hip hop and R & B 12 inches and just stretch the vocals to your desired bpm and chop away.
some accapella links.

Try to find these bootleggy vinyls in thrift shops or if you see a track on this vinyl I'll email it to you.

Jorge, great links (I only knew of the first one)... those bootleg accapella vinyls are the best, but not always easy to find. Thanks again!

A lot of the promo 12" singles for commercial R&B include an acapella, and I'm pretty sure the Brandy was one of these.....would be well worth seeking out rather than trying to extract an accapella out of a full production.

I am using PEAK. I am trying to increase the tempo to match a beat that i have. The beat is 134.9BPM and i need to match the accapela to the beat but I am having trouble. Is there an easier way to get the tempo to match the beat in peak. When I do it it is either to fast or too slow. Is it just a trial and error process or is there faster easier way to do it?

chop the accapella in a few pieces ...
put it in a sampler like kontakt and
speed up or down the vocals in realtime !
untill they fit smile.gif

Thanks SteffenB chopping to get control of the timing is the way to go. Here are 2 articles on vocals I thought were informative.
