Ok here is the deal.
I have two tracks in soundforge.

I want to sync them together so I can edit(flange, EQ etc) one track as the other one stays the same.. Did I say that right? uuuggg!

My mission is to have them play at the same time and at the end I want to save or burn them as one track..

Is this possible in SoundForge or do I have to use other programs such as Cubase, AcidPro or ebiltonLive.. I am not to swift with ebilton but I'll try it to get the track finished.

I can do it it in Cubase or AcidPro but I just want to know if SoundForge has this capability. I see the syc functions and the audo plug-in Chainer but I tried to linck them but guess what.. It didn't work.... graemlins/mecry.gif

Any help out thereeeeeeee!!!!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Keith,

could you please explain me what do you mean with "sync" them together???

do you wanna mix them (for example copy one and paste it into the other one) or just paste it behind the forthcoming one???

i know that you can paste one track into another one with a special paste option (it's called mix if i remember correctly) but i think you can either work with special fx on only one track and after that you have to paste them together or put them together and after that you can use the fx but only on both of them.

have you already tried out the plug in chainer???

1. first load the track you wanna put some fx on.

2. open the plug in chainer and build your personal chain (for example an eq and after that a gate/compressor and after that a flanger).

3. Save your "personal chain" as a prset. (so you have direct acces on your chain without put them together again).

4. play around with your track.

5. if you like your "conversion" assign it on your file.

6. copy your file (strg + c)

7. open your second track.

8. go to EDIT, PASTE SPECIAL, MIX

Perhaps step 8 is not 100 % correct because in the moment i try to rebuild it from my mind but i know that there is an option where you can paste them together.

Unfortunately there is no way where you work together on both of them using effects on track 1 without using it on track 2. so no realtime conversion is possible. (correct me if i'm wrong). but when you saved your personal fx chain you will have a better workflow because you don`t have to load each effect agian. and you can save your actual presets in each effect also.

i browsed the net a little bit and i think the sync funtion is only for "syncing" audio & video.

DJKP No. Sound Forge doesn't have the capability that you're seeking.

You will have to use Acid or Cubase.

The SYNC function is for Midi Time Code (MTC) and/or Midi Clock (for connecting to an external device).

Peace...
