unique thing about an acid synth is that it uses a particular type of diode filter (at least in the hardware world). I'm not sure what distinguishes a diode filter used in a 303 from say an EMS...

It's a Roland SH-9. I have a Roland SH-02 which is a real similar synth. basically an sh-9 with an extra oscillator. dope little synths.

I've been really digging the N12 by yamaha. nothing super sexy about it...i.e. it's not a neve or SSL x-desk...but I use cubase and the mixer has a mode that allows you to basically track the mixer...

I have a few Hosa's. They're cheap and work pretty well. Would love something more high end though. mine take trs or ts. Pretty easy to use but it definitely helps to plan it out before plugging...
