The first thing that came to mind when I saw this post was "Assata" from Common's "Like water for Chocolate.
Read carefully Basecore:
Freedom! You askin me about freedom. Askin me about freedom?
I'll be honest with you. I know a whole more about what freedom isn't
than about what it is, cause I've never been free.
I can only share my vision with you of the future, about what freedom is.
Uhh, the way I see it, freedom is-- is the right to grow, is the right to
blossom.
Freedom is -is the right to be yourself, to be who you are,
to be who you wanna be, to do what you wanna do.
Peace

With desire, the world is tied down. With the subduing of desire it\'s freed. With the abandoning of desire all bonds are cut through.

Keep in mind that there are protests all over the world. Cities like Rome and London had much bigger crowds at their anti-war protests than NY and DC. Millions of people around the world are opposed to this war. If anything, I think it lets others know that we don't all agree with Bush's actions.Originally posted by Basecore Boy:

Just joking.

This is not an attack B-Boy, but really think about the question you're asking. It's not that simple.
Ask yourself this for starters:
1) WHO gets to decide what 'too much freedom' is?
2) Who gets to decide WHAT freedoms get taken away?
Anyone feel free to add to the list...

DEBATE.
But, some like to attack. Like jerks.
I know what you're saying, but that could be considered a dangerous question to ask.Originally posted by Basecore Boy:

"Anyone willing to give up essential liberty in exchange for temporary safety, deserves neither liberty nor safety." Ben Franklin, I think.
Funny thing though, I believe BF was a BIGTIME racist. I guess he had some value. Apart from electricity and all...

you can never have enough freedom. look at the rich- how they have the freedom to rob, steal and corrupt.
I have a very strange idea. The next time someone clowns someone else on this board for their political views, why don't they post their own activities to make our country a better place. Hell - any country a better place.
Point the finger - have three pointing back at you.
i'm with you basecore boy: people should definetly be silenced if they oppose any policy, especially a really necessary and internationally legal war. I know eh? how dare the public voice their opinions?
Aren't you the guy who's always talking about saddams oppressing of peoples freedom in iraq?
