Yeah I remember both proms I went on. Ah, the memories... Do you want to hear about the one where I tried to leave the guy in his car or the one where I dumped my date a week before prom? I guess even then I had a low tolerance for bullshit

My prom was late! The only fun was getting up and going to Great America the next day.

Reminds me of a Jesse Saunders' story. Jesse refused to go to prom 'cause they wouldn't let him wear jeans. So, he set up shop right outside the prom, in jeans, blasting his patented pause-button edits on his gigantic "box." That was back when he had good taste in music.

Didn’t wanna go to mine (Marian Catholic High School) but did the whole Link’s cotillion/debutante thing (just like prom but better). However, did go to St. Ignatius’ prom with a junior (I was a senior but we were the same ages).

NOTE: I tried to post pix, but for some reason was unable to...

NEways, yep, I remember all three proms very well! My junior prom (Morristown High School, Morristown, NJ; 1987) was the night I learned that guys expected to get laid (and the night I learned that pulling a cry move would back him up off me! ;) )...I also went to his senior prom that same year.

My senior year, my then-bf came to Michigan to take me to my prom (since my family had moved back from NJ in the middle of my freakin senior year!); and I flew back to Jersey to participate in the Morristown cotillion.

The stylistic theme of all these events was.....BIG AZZ HAIR!!!!

If ya ain't shamed, post some pix, yall!!!! :D

I didn't go to mine and boy do I regret it. Didn't have a date and didn't think of going stag. These days I go stag everywhere!
But, paid for my son to go to proms two years in a row. The tickets alone was $139! Got a Hugo Boss tux from a thrift shop for $60 bucks and he was good to go.

Ahh you bougie Chi-town, Links cotillion going, folks!! This is a phenomenon unto itself...
I didn't go to my Prom, got asked to the neighboring towns prom but refused to go, cause the guy who asked me I barely knew (I was difficult from way back). I went to the NYC and partied all night instead - trust me, I had more fun then going to the prom with a bunch of MF's I couldn't stand anyway....I could have cared less. My poor Mother was so disappointed.

Exactly. She looked like a lady and I was very proud of her. Time flies and you look up and they're almost grown. This was her second one. She said that she didn't like it....

I begged my dad to rent a car for me. A couple of buddy's and I went in together for a connecting hotel room. A week before prom, I catch my girl lip locking with some dude.
