    Ft. Green park yesterday

I wasn't there for too long, but I did see Sting pull out a great big
can of whoop ass on the crowd. The system was crazy!!!

    Awesome

Sting turned out!! He brought in his own speakers. I never heard the park sound so rich and deep. You could hear the music outside the park.

It was an amazing event full of energy. Everyone was smiling as they sweated the afternoon and evening away.

I knew Sting would bring it...I can't believe I missed this for a mediocre and disorganized Soul Alliance boat party...oh well.

That sound was INCREDIBLE. Positioning six stacks of speakers throughout the dance area had me believing that it was the Shelter without the roof! I said that Sting would bring it, and he DID. Perfect weather, lots of people, great energy.

The sound system was much better than the previous installment but honestly I wasn't feeling the set as a whole. It was too anthem heavy for my tastes. There no real wow moment for me. The crowd loved it but I left before the whole thing was over.

I have my own standards, and ocassionally they are met. Some alcohol would have helped.

    Talking

Yesterday had me smiling and twirling and skipping in the circle with people I helped to raise and others who I have mentored and arthritic joints notwithstanding enjoying the passing of a torch. It found me laughing and chatting with sisterfriends and brotherfriends including my favorite Irish cultural nationalist . It had me all giggly and making out in the park. It had me remembering why I proclaim Brooklyn the center of the universe. As one of my non-househead friends texted as she ought me in the murk of dusk, "this is like the party at the end of Matrix." Thanks Sting, Soul Summit and beautiful souls who added their energies to one great summer afternoon whose memory will be ever treasured.

and, just what would you have liked to hear. That shit was fiya! But, maybe I was just digging it cause I have been away for so long. Still, what did you want to hear Sting play more of & what didn't you like about the set. Please I really would like to know?

No "Hating," the set just wasn't my cup of tea. As I stated in my first post in the thread, too many anthems in a row and at some moments when I got into a song, the next one started (example, We Had A Thing by Abstract Truth was cut off too early) or at other times the song lasted too long. I like being surprised every once in awhile or have a "Holy Shit" moment, those were lacking for me. The consensus is that it was a good set but I'm not going to change my honest opinion about the set just because the reviews were overall positive. I can't say what I would rather hear because that varies depending on a number of factors.
