we don't know all the facts...could have been a reason for the text messages (perps were an earshot away)...anything. They saw the need to leave and attempted. I thought the first victim attempted to run away at first...read it somewhere. Easy to say "Kindda stupid" we none of us was there.

TAC, we did growing up! But it was a different era!
You could hang out at the school yard, somebodies front porch (mainly mine - my mother wasn't letting me with out shout hearing!) and or somewhere safe! Or what we deemed to be safe!

This is a different climate now! Nothing and nowhere is safe!

Agreed. Question is, what is the root cause of the climate change?

I definitely hung out in playgrounds after dark, in BROWNSVILLE!!!! I often think of all the dicey situations I blithely walked into as a teen and am deeply thankful that I came out mostly unscathed.

Man, you gotta be kidding. I had a friend in the bronx who was shot and killed for all of a large pizza and 5 cents in his pockets.

They were listening to music on something, so that is something of value right there.

So you know the parks I speak of around there. Problem was, and yes I am making an admission here, but I hung tight with the criminal element. So I knew what was going on in parks at night cause we was rolling on anyone we would catch in the parks, after dark. And this was in the seventies, mind you.

Consequently, when I (or we) didn't (or wouldn't) have the advantage/upper hand, there was no way I/we would be found in a park after dark. That's just plain, simple survival tactic. It suffices to suffice to say, you learn quick or you die.

And a scary bunch of buggers they are. I'm not so worried about the Kings as I am about Trece...and this sounds exactly like some of their shyt. For real. And that squashes, as far as I'm concerned, the robbery as a real motive.

Sounds to me like some fool shot one of them, and they thought he/she was dead, and then they collectively decided that the only way to avoid jail was to shoot all the witnesses. The first victim was the one who lived.

Speaking of statistics, I did jury duty last week for 3 days. When they asked us if you or anyone in your family had been the victim of a violent crime, almost every single person (myself included) raised their hand and proceeded to tell their story. It was fascinating and scary at the same time.
