You may also want to go the short route in steps ... two inches off now, then another two next month, etc. Like Kara mentioned, find a good stylist. Just so you can get used to the length. When was last time you sported a shorty?

i think the last time I had short hair was back in my early 20's, then I just grew it all out...here is me at 19 I am not sure though if my hair is that long to donate, plus it is such a mess right now

you have diff hair texture than katie holmes (i love that haircut tho; i also like victoria beckham's "the posh") but you can still pull it off. i would bet the stylist would need to cut into your hair a bit (parlance for cutting under and taking some volume out so you get that flatter layered look), but thicker hair textures can hold short cuts really well. you can get that geometric look that finer hair textures can't hold as well.

i say go for it. you have strong features so why not! i love short hair and i like how mhd put it...

I am actually going to get my hair straightened (not chemically, i think it is the keratine straightening procedure) before I cut it, I plan on making the appt to straighten then consult on how I would cut it. The big curly hair thing just gots to go. however, with it short I could do the wavy thing, not sure just yet but I will defintely be consulting my hair girl, thanks Lola
