Typing in all caps - internet

Most of us who are internet savy know not to type emails, text messages etc., in ALL CAPS. Ok, so what do you do when you have friends who constantly type IN ALL CAPS?

Friend: "I HOPE HE DO A 16 FOR THE SONG I EMAILED HIM AND JUST GOING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT"

So, after reading this email I responded: I hope you didn't type your email in all caps. Because, it looks unprofessional.

Friend: "ITS ONLY (insert rapper name here) NOT SOME CORPORATE WHITE DUDE. I KNOW THIS LIKE IT REALLY MATTERED. GOOD LOOK THOUGH THANKS"

Kindly tell them to quit doing the shit...

Explain to them that you would appreciate it if they would not send you
messages in all caps, that's it's not professional and it's VERY inappropriate...

If they keep on doing it, stop acceting their messages, and let them know WHY.

Why does an email to a friend, on a personal, non-business matter, need to be professional? In any case, as Edith suggests, you can tell if that it makes reading his emails hard to read (if that's the case) and respectfully ask him to stop.

for me its just consistency. Especially, if said person wants to "make it."

and, besides it just looks horrible. I really think people who type in caps are going blind and probably can't afford to get their eyes checked.

This is a pet peeve I have. Not the end of the world, but it just makes reading IMs, emails, chat, boards somewhat annoying. So whenever someone types to me in all caps i respond, "why are you shouting?" lol. It's a general rule of the internets that typing in all caps is considered shouting. Usually after that little comment folks type in lowercase then, but if they continue, i just try to overlook it.

I have a hard time overlooking it because it makes things so darned hard to read...caps aren't really designed to be read in blocks like that...and it really does strike me as shouting. I don't like it at all...
