I'm curious as to what primarily determines whether your a Mets fan or Yankees fan? Is it the neighborhood you grew up in? Family? Best team at the time?

It's funny. In the 70s I was a Yankee fan. In the late 80s I was a Mets fan, and it was hard to find anyone who wasn't in 86. Once that team broke up, and the Jeter era began, I was back on the Yankee bandwagon. The Mets were so bad in the 70s you couldn't even watch them. They would have crowds at Shea of 4000 people. Torre was no great manager then

Well the Mets had been doing better than the Yanks in recent years, but I stick by the Yanks.

It was very hard not to be a Mets fan, like I said, in 86. The whole city was united that year. People were gathered outside stores that had tvs in the window, watching entire games during the playoffs and remember being one of them. I also didnt like Winfield.
