Thumbs up Stevie Wonder at MSC Saturday night

Wow. That's all I have to say. The man put out so much positivity, sincerity, and love it was impossible not to walk out of there feeling high from it all. He took the stage with the assistance of Aisha (beautiful!) and opened the show with a some words about the passing of his mother and how he received a message from beyond from her telling him to tour when he had just about hung up his hat. It was sweet of him to mention Kanye's mother's passing, too. It set the stage for an evening that soared to new heights with every song. And if that weren't enough he had guest drop-ins by the likes of Tony Bennet who sang "For Once In My Life" with him and PRINCE (!!!!!!) who played guitar on "Superstitious". No fanfare, just Prince playing guitar. Here's the song list from the evening, I don't think I missed anything.

    Too High
    Visions
Livin' for the City (Many of the concession staff put down their trays and left their posts to throw down in the aisles during this one.)

    Ribbon in the Sky
    Overjoyed
    If it's Magic

Yes, it was an amazing show!! This is my 2nd time seeing Stevie perform in the last 2 years, and he never disappoints. I was blessed to be a part of this special evening...

It was a powerful, powerful evening. When Prince came out I completely lost it. Completely. I was 15 all over again. The vibration in Madison Square Garden was completely transformed by Stevie Wonder.
In addition to his stuff listed above he did a medley of covers- Tear the Roof of The Sucker, We are Family, What's Going On and I think a couple of others.

Wow Prince and Tony Benett? All we got was Tyrese in Montreal. LOL

Can't complain though still thinking about the show and it was nearly a month ago.

It seemed like he was still thinking about his mom when he sang "AS", because he could barely get through the first part of it. We could see the sadness on his face (from the huge monitors on each side of the stage) as he tried to sing it. It was all good though because we sang it loud and strong for him. People in my section kept screaming ("It's alright Stevie, We got you!!!"). It was a powerfull moment. Half way through the song, he got it together and tore the rest of the song up. The crowd was going wild (dancing and singing) from beginning to end.

"I'll be Loving you forever, ALWAYS"!!!.

I'm sure his mom was smiling down on him from heaven.

    Peace & Blessings,

He started the show in Montreal talking about his mom's death and how he was so down he wanted to cancel all his gigs and then he had a vision of her saying "boy you better get your ass back out on the road..." Thank god for that! Very touching. He gave me goosebumps several times.

That was definitely an intense part of the show!

Ending with "As" says it all for me.

Saw him at Mohegan Sun last week - this is what he performed there:

Love's In Need of Love Today (opening song)
    Visions
    Master Blaster Jammin'
    Golden Lady
    Too High
    Livin' For The City
    Overjoyed
    For Once In My Life
    All I Do
    Higher Ground
    A Ribbon In The Sky
Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing
    Signed Sealed Delivered
    Superstition
    Sir Duke
I Just Called To Say I Love You
You Are The Sunshine of My Life
    Lately
    My Cherie Amour
a duet with his daughter Aisha (can't recall but it's on his latest cd)
    I Wish
    Everything Is Alright (Uptight)
    Do I Do
    As
    Another Star (ending song)

comparing playlists, I feel sorta lucky to have heard him do "Do I Do" and "Another Star." However I would have loved to hear him do "If It's Magic."
